1. With the financial support of the Carswell Family, the Vimy Foundation, Veterans Affairs Canada, the National Film Board and their partners proudly launch Vimy: A Living Memorial at the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
2. The Expedition: A Journey Into Commemoration app brings the rich historical context of the Vimy Memorial to life through site-specific stories and multimedia content.
3. While walking in the footsteps of soldiers, nurses and artists that contributed to writing this chapter of our history, learn more about the Battle of Vimy Ridge and the national memorial built for its commemoration.
4. If you are visiting the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, make sure to download the app and follow along the stories while you experience the vast site at your own pace.
5. These stories are divided into four categories: Witnessing Vimy, The Site, The Memorial, The Battle.
6. Vimy: A Living Memorial consists of two assets: The Expedition: A Journey Into Commemoration and The Digital Pilgrimage.
7. * The Expedition: A Journey Into Commemoration is part of the Vimy: A Living Memorial project.
8. Through digital storytelling, this new project will bring Vimy to Canadians and the international public, while transforming the experience of commemoration.
