2. The front line of this war is now in space, from which the Machina Lardifica plan to deploy their greatest weapon: A bomb capable of destroying all life on Earth.
3. BaconVaders is an attempt to distill all those components into a retro space shooter that draws inspiration from my favorite arcade games of the 70s and 80s.
4. Your mission as a top Space Fighter pilot, is to take on the Machina Lardifica and save the world.
5. The appeal of retro arcade games is immediacy, fluid game play and fun.
6. Eventually, the Machina Lardifica learned how to organize and build weapons.
7. I started coding this game in the 80s on a Commodore 64 computer in assembly language.
8. While the experiment was initially successful, the machines soon began to evolve basic consciousness.
9. No long loading screens, complicated menus or forced upgrades.
10. Thus began the war against the robotic pigs.
11. Finally, many years later, I finished it on iOS.
